Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Jack Britt Buccaneers (Fayetteville, NC), 53-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pinecrest upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Patriots host Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, November 30. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 29. Jack Britt will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
