Cathedral Fighting Irish (El Paso, TX) backers went home thrilled Saturday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Fabens Wildcats (Fabens, TX), 54-34 in a non-league contest.

The Fighting Irish (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Coronado (El Paso, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Coronado topped San Elizario (San Elizario, TX), 41-18, in a non-league match.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Patterson Institute for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 25. Fabens will confront a Lions team coming off a 58-44 non-league loss to Hanks (El Paso, TX). The Lions record now stands at 2-2.
