Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls (Fayetteville, NC) and the visiting Varsity Opponent (, ), witnessed E.E. Smith's basketball squad hold off Varsity Opponent by a count of 46-44.

With the victory, E.E. Smith improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Golden Bulls travel to Hillside (Durham, NC) to encounter the Hornets in a non-league battle on Tuesday, November 25. The Hornets enter the battle with a record of 0-0.

The now own a 13-62 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bowling Green Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Saturday, November 22. Varsity Opponent will meet a Lions squad coming off a 37-25 league loss to Senedot Stripes (Chatfield, OH). The Lions record now stands at 0-1.
