The Newton Eagles basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Vandalia Vandals to 55 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Eagles now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Flora for a non-league contest on Friday, November 26. Newton will battle a Wolves team coming off a 38-30 non-league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Wolves record now stands at 2-2.
The Vandals (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Flora (Flora, IL). The Wolves enter the non-league contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Flora was nudged by Effingham (Effingham, IL), 38-30, in a non-league contest.
