California High School Basketball - Monte Vista can't hold off Hilltop

The Hilltop Lancers basketball team scored 36 points and held the host Monte Vista Monarchs to 34 in the Lancers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lancers now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to El Capitan for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 29. Hilltop will battle a Vaqueros team coming off a 68-22 non-league win over Liberty Charter (Lemon Grove, CA). The Vaqueros record now stands at 3-0.

The Monarchs (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against Clairemont (San Diego, CA). The Chieftains enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Clairemont was nudged by Fallbrook (Fallbrook, CA), 64-55, in a non-league contest.
