Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Johnson County Longhorns (Mountain City, TN), 54-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Watauga upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Pioneers host Avery County (Newland, NC) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league bout on Friday, December 2. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Longhorns clash with the Holston Cavaliers (Damascus, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 1. Johnson County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
