Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host St. Anthony Bulldogs (Effingham, IL), 53-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Champaign Central upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Maroons host Richwoods (Peoria, IL) to play the Knights in a Big Twelve bout on Tuesday, November 28. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Richwoods won 68-34 in their recent non-league bout against The Noble Academy (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 28. St. Anthony will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 46-34 non-league loss to Fairfield (Fairfield, IL).
