Beardstown Tigers (Beardstown, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mendon Unity Mustangs (Mendon, IL), 46-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Beardstown upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 29. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 1-2. Cuba/Spoon River Valley lost 59-52 in their recent non-league bout against Havana (Havana, IL)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 29. Mendon Unity will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Saukees come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 38-34 non-league loss to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL).
