Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Dakota Indians (Dakota, IL), 46-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Eastland upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL) to clash with the Comets in a non-league bout on Wednesday, November 29. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Newman Central Catholic lost 59-54 in their recent league bout against Princeton (Princeton, IL)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Dakota will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 51-36 non-league loss to Pearl City (Pearl City, IL).
