The Lakeland Cavaliers basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Smithfield Packers to 30 in the Cavaliers non-league triumph on Monday.

The Cavaliers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Franklin for a non-league match on Friday, December 1. Lakeland will meet a Broncos team coming off a 70-34 non-league loss to Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Broncos record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Smithfield moves to 0-1 on the year. The Packers host Bruton (Williamsburg, VA) to meet the Panthers in a Bay Rivers match on Thursday, November 30. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 1-0. Bruton won 45-27 in their recent non-league match against West Point (West Point, VA)
