Freedom Eagles (South Riding, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host James Wood Colonels (Winchester, VA), 54-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Freedom upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Eagles host Millbrook (Winchester, VA) to clash with the Pioneers in a Northwestern bout on Wednesday, November 30. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Millbrook won 56-34 in their recent league bout against Fauquier (Warrenton, VA)

Next up, the Colonels clash with the Sherando Warriors (Stephens City, VA) in a Northwestern bout, on Thursday, December 8. James Wood will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 57-52 non-league loss to Rock Ridge (Ashburn, VA).
