Greenwood Blue Jays (Springfield, MO) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Galena Bears (Galena, MO), 53-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Greenwood upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Blue Jays travel to Crane (Crane, MO) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 1. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Bears play the Wheaton Bulldogs (Wheaton, MO) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Galena will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
