The Alburnett Pirates basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Midland Eagles to 31 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Edgewood-Colesburg for a Tri-Rivers contest on Friday, December 1. Alburnett will meet a Vikings team coming off a 76-39 league loss to Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 0-1.
The Eagles (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA). The Warriors enter the Tri-Rivers contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Calamus-Wheatland triumphed over Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA), 76-39, in a league contest.
