Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX), 59-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pittsburg upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Pirates travel to Ford (Quinlan, TX) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-2. Ford lost 52-43 in their recent non-league bout against Venus (Venus, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Mildred Eagles (Corsicana, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Mount Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 56-48 non-league win over Grand Saline (Grand Saline, TX).
