Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Spartans (Pharr, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting South Texas Christian Academy Panthers (McAllen, TX), 65-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Vanguard Academy Rembrandt upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Spartans host STX (McAllen, TX) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 4-3.

Next up, the Panthers play the IDEA Weslaco Pike Mavericks (Weslaco, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout, on Thursday, November 30. South Texas Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 65-47 non-league loss to STX (McAllen, TX).
