Iowa High School Basketball - Grinnell fells Newton

Grinnell Tigers (Grinnell, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA), 47-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Grinnell upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Tigers host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Mt. Vernon won 65-39 in their recent non-league bout against Hempstead (Dubuque, IA)

Next up, the Cardinals clash with the Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 46-13 non-league loss to Roosevelt (Des Moines, IA).
