La Marque Cougars (La Marque, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Texas City Stingarees (Texas City, TX), 37-29 in a non-league bout.
With the win, La Marque upgrades its record to 2-9 on the season. The Cougars travel to Brazosport (Freeport, TX) to play the Exporters in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Exporters go into the bout with a record of 10-2.
Next up, the Stingarees play the Wisdom Generals (Houston, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Texas City will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Generals go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 19-16 league win over Waltrip (Houston, TX).
