The Licking Valley Panthers basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting River View Black Bears to 27 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Panthers now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Zanesville for a Licking County - Buckeye contest on Friday, December 1. Licking Valley will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 56-14 non-league loss to John Glenn (New Concord, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-3.

The Black Bears (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against Coshocton (Coshocton, OH). The Redskins enter the Muskingum Valley contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Coshocton was defeated by Garaway (Sugarcreek, OH), 41-31, in a non-league contest.
