The Carterville Lions basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Trico Pioneers to 25 in the Lions non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Lions now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Red Bud for a non-league contest on Friday, December 1. Carterville will battle a Musketeers team coming off a 57-37 non-league win over Steeleville (Steeleville, IL). The Musketeers record now stands at 1-0.
The Pioneers (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Steeleville (Steeleville, IL). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Steeleville was routed by Red Bud (Red Bud, IL), 57-37, in a non-league contest.
