Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion (Wickenburg, AZ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Gila Bend Gila Monsters (Gila Bend, AZ), 36-27 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wickenburg Christian Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Lion host James Madison Preparatory School (Tempe, AZ) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Gila Monsters play the PS Academy Arizona Bulldogs (Gilbert, AZ) in a bout, on Thursday, December 7. Gila Bend will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 73-44 league loss to BASIS - Ahwatukee (Phoenix, AZ).
