In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Whittier Cardinals basketball team scored a good 48-39 triumph over the Valley Christian Defenders.

The Cardinals (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against South Hills (West Covina, CA). The Huskies go into the non-league outing with a 4-3 record. In their last game, South Hills toppled Schurr (Montebello, CA), 41-40, in a non-league game.

With the loss, Valley Christian falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Defenders travel to Village Christian (Sun Valley, CA) to clash with the Crusaders in a outing on Friday, January 9. The Crusaders come into the outing with a record of 8-2.
