The Athens Hornets basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Fairfield Eagles to 51 in the Hornets non-league victory on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beckville for a non-league contest on Friday, December 1. Athens will clash with a Bearcats squad coming off a 51-31 non-league win over White Oak (White Oak, TX). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-0.

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Palmer Bulldogs (Palmer, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Fairfield will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 45-43 non-league win over Ferris (Ferris, TX).
