Pierce Bluejays (Pierce, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Howells-Dodge Jaguars (Howells, NE), 41-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pierce upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bluejays host Boone Central (Albion, NE) to play the Cardinals in a C1 District 8 bout on Friday, December 8. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Jaguars play the Stanton Mustangs (Stanton, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Howells-Dodge will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
