In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Southside Mavericks basketball team scored a good 41-33 triumph over the Carthage Tigers.
In their next game, the Mavericks meet the Northside Grizzlies (Fort Smith, AR) in a 6A West match, on Tuesday, January 9. Southside will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
With the defeat, Carthage moves to 0-1 on the year. The Tigers travel to Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, KS) to meet the Buffaloes in a non-league match on Saturday, December 2. The Buffaloes enter the match with a record of 2-1. Sunrise Christian Academy won 47-42 in their recent non-league match against Webb City (Webb City, MO)
