The Mt. Vernon Marauders basketball team (Fortville, IN), was nudged 48-43 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Connersville Spartans (Connersville, IN)
The Spartans now possess a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Greensburg for a Eastern Indiana battle on Saturday, December 2. Connersville will meet a Pirates team coming off a 75-25 non-league win over South Decatur (Greensburg, IN). The Pirates record now stands at 6-2.
With the defeat, Mt. Vernon moves to 3-5 on the year. The Marauders host Pendleton Heights (Pendleton, IN) to meet the Arabians in a Hoosier Heritage match on Saturday, December 2. The Arabians enter the match with a record of 6-1. Pendleton Heights won 45-44 in their recent league match against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IN)
