Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Elk Grove Grenadiers (Elk Grove Village, IL), 43-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Leyden upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Eagles host Downers Grove South (Downers Grove, IL) to clash with the Mustangs in a West Suburban - Gold bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Downers Grove South won 56-30 in their recent league bout against Proviso East (Maywood, IL)

Next up, the Grenadiers clash with the Hersey Huskies (Arlington Heights, IL) in a Mid-Suburban - East bout, on Friday, December 1. Elk Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 62-31 non-league loss to Fremd (Palatine, IL).
