Incarnate Word Academy Angels (Corpus Christi, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host St. John's Mavericks (Houston, TX), 47-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Incarnate Word Academy upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Angels travel to Lutheran South Academy (Houston, TX) to clash with the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 30. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Lutheran South Academy lost 75-32 in their recent non-league bout against Bay Area Christian (League City, TX)

Next up, the Mavericks clash with the Lake Country Christian Eagles (Fort Worth, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. St. John's will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 53-30 non-league win over Nolan Catholic (Fort Worth, TX).
