The Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) basketball nipped the host Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX), 53-49 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (12-6) will now prepare for their test against Sharyland (Mission, TX). The Rattlers go into the non-league test with a 1-7 record. In their last test, Sharyland was tipped by Mercedes (Mercedes, TX), 39-32, in a non-league test.
