Tennessee High School Basketball - University School nudges Cocke County

The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the University School Buccaneers (Johnson City, TN) and the host Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN), observed University School's basketball team edge Cocke County by a score of 56-55.

The Buccaneers (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Cherokee (Rogersville, TN). The Chiefs come into the non-league challenge with a 0-3 record.

In their next game, the Fighting Cocks encounter the Seymour Eagles (Seymour, TN) in a 3A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, December 3. Cocke County will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 76-64 non-league win over Berean Christian (Knoxville, TN).
