Portal Panthers (Portal, GA) followers went home in high spirits Monday as they saw their flag football team tip the visiting Effingham County Rebels (Springfield, GA), 14-7 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Portal advances its record to 5-4 on the year. The Panthers travel to Metter (Metter, GA) to battle the Tigers in a D1 Area 4 contest on Tuesday, November 5. The Tigers enter the contest with a record of 0-0.

Coming up next, the Rebels battle the South Effingham Mustangs (Guyton, GA) in a D3 Area 1 contest, on Thursday, November 7. Effingham County will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Mustangs enter the contest with a 7-2 record after their 25-0 league win over Glynn Academy (Brunswick, GA).
