Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Itawamba Agricultural Indians (Fulton, MS), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lafayette upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Commodores travel to South Panola (Batesville, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 9. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 0-1. South Panola lost 68-39 in their recent non-league bout against Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS)

Next up, the Indians play the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 9. Itawamba Agricultural will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
