Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host North Mesquite Stallions (Mesquite, TX), 39-23 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Denison improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets travel to Alvarado (Alvarado, TX) to confront the Indians in a non-league battle on Thursday, November 9. The Indians come into the battle with a record of 0-2. Alvarado lost 71-42 in their recent non-league battle against Bell (Hurst, TX)

The Stallions (0-2) will now prepare for their battle against Centennial (Burleson, TX). The Spartans come into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Centennial was toppled by Lake Ridge (Mansfield, TX), 49-31, in a non-league battle.
