    In Friday's non-league outing, the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) football squad were winner over the visiting Mendenhall Tigers (Mendenhall, MS), by a margin of 35-19.

    The Cougars now sport a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Columbia for a non-league outing on Friday, November 14. Newton County will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 49-0 non-league win over Moss Point (Moss Point, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-0.

    With the loss, Mendenhall falls to 5-5 on the year.
