The Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) basketball were winner over the host United Longhorns (Laredo, TX), 85-75 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Sabercats now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to La Joya for a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 12. Vela will play a Coyotes team coming off a 39-38 non-league loss to McAllen (McAllen, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 0-1.
