Canyon Eagles (Canyon, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Canyon upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to El Dorado (El Paso, TX) to play the Aztecs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 2. The Aztecs go into the bout with a record of 2-8. El Dorado lost 71-40 in their recent non-league bout against Monterey (Lubbock, TX)

Next up, the Plainsmen play the Plainview Bulldogs (Plainview, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Monterey will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 94-27 non-league loss to North Crowley (Fort Worth, TX).
