Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC), 35-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Anson upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Gray Stone Day won 52-46 in their recent non-league bout against South Davidson (Denton, NC)

Next up, the Rowdy Rebel Bulls play the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. South Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 47-24 non-league win over Chatham Central (Bear Creek, NC).
