The Deer Lakes Lancers basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Armstrong River Hawks to 53 in the Lancers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lancers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Freeport for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5.

The River Hawks (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Westmont Hilltop (Johnstown, PA). The Hilltoppers enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Westmont Hilltop was nudged by Kiski Area (Vandergrift, PA), 56-41, in a non-league contest.
