The Heppner Mustangs basketball team (Heppner, OR), was nudged 49-47 in Friday's non-league battle with the host McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR)
The Pioneers now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to College Place for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 5. McLoughlin will battle a Hawks team coming off a 60-44 non-league loss to DeSales (Walla Walla, WA). The Hawks record now stands at 1-1.
The Mustangs (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Dufur (Dufur, OR). The Rangers come into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Dufur edged Central Christian (Redmond, OR), 52-45, in a non-league battle.
