Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 52-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sandia upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Matadors travel to Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM) to clash with the Hawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 2. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Volcano Vista won 46-45 in their recent non-league bout against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 61-57 non-league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM).
