The Halstead Dragons basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Sedgwick Cardinals to 21 in the Dragons non-league triumph on Friday.
The Dragons now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Independent for a non-league contest on Monday, December 4. Halstead will battle a Panthers team coming off a 66-16 non-league win over Kiowa County (Greensburg, KS). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.
The Cardinals (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Classical (Wichita, KS). The Saints enter the Heart of America contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Classical was routed by Central Christian (Hutchinson, KS), 40-32, in a non-league contest.
