Dixie Heights Colonels (Edgewood, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY), 37-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Dixie Heights upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Colonels travel to Villa Madonna (Covington, KY) to play the Vikings in a bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Pioneers play the North Oldham Mustangs (Goshen, KY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Simon Kenton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
