Merritt Island Mustangs (Merritt Island, FL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Palm Bay Pirates (Melbourne, FL), 69-68 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Merritt Island upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Satellite (Satellite Beach, FL) to play the Scorpions in a non-league bout on Monday, December 4. The Scorpions go into the bout with a record of 0-0.
