In Sunday's non-league contest, the host Avon Eagles basketball team scored a close 37-31 triumph over the Gilmour Academy Lancers.

The Eagles (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Steele (Amherst, OH). The Comets go into the Southwestern contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Steele nipped Oberlin (Oberlin, OH), 49-29, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Lancers battle the Lutheran East Falcons (Cleveland Heights, OH) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 5. Gilmour Academy will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record. The Falcons go into the contest with a 2-0 record after their 49-33 non-league win over Richmond Heights (Richmond Heights, OH).
