Illinois High School Basketball - Springfield over Alton

December 10, 2022: Alton, IL 62002

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) and the host Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL), saw Springfield's basketball squad overcome Alton by a tally of 59-44.

With the victory, Springfield improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Senators host Normal University (Normal, IL) to confront the Pioneers in a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Normal University won 54-37 in their recent league challenge against Glenwood (Chatham, IL)

Next up, the Redbirds confront the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a Southwestern challenge, on Friday, December 16. Alton will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record.
