Pinon Eagles (Pinon, AZ) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ash Fork Spartans (Ash Fork, AZ), 45-38 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Pinon upgrades its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ) to play the Fightin' Knights in a 2A North bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Fightin' Knights come into the bout with a record of 0-4.
Next up, the Spartans play the St. Michael Cardinals (St. Michaels, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Ash Fork will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 62-47 non-league loss to Leading Edge Academy - GEC (Gilbert, AZ).
