Liberty Panthers (Liberty, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Burkeville Mustangs (Burkeville, TX), 56-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Liberty upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Evadale (Evadale, TX) to play the Rebels in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 10. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 5-8. Evadale won 68-60 in their recent non-league bout against Onalaska (Onalaska, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Colmesneil Bulldogs (Colmesneil, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Burkeville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 70-66 non-league loss to Deweyville (Deweyville, TX).
