Collegiate Spartans (Wichita, KS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Independence Bulldogs (Independence, KS), 53-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Collegiate upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Spartans host Andale (Andale, KS) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Andale lost 50-46 in their recent non-league bout against Valley Center (Valley Center, KS)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Labette County Grizzlies (Altamont, KS) in a Southeast Kansas bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 63-54 non-league loss to Circle (Towanda, KS).
