McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Irrigon Knights (Irrigon, OR), 36-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McLoughlin upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Vale (Vale, OR) to clash with the Vikings in a 3A Eastern Oregon bout on Friday, January 6. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Knights clash with the Riverside Pirates (Boardman, OR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Irrigon will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 56-22 non-league loss to Pendleton (Pendleton, OR).
