Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX), 55-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Port Isabel upgrades its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Tarpons travel to Rivera (Brownsville, TX) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 3-10. Rivera lost 62-37 in their recent non-league bout against King (Corpus Christi, TX)

Next up, the Wolverines play the Rowe Warriors (McAllen, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 57-44 non-league loss to Pace (Brownsville, TX).
