Woodlawn Cardinals (Woodlawn, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Red Hill Salukis (Bridgeport, IL), 48-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Woodlawn upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season. The Cardinals host Waltonville (Waltonville, IL) to clash with the Spartans in a Midland Trail bout on Friday, December 16. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Salukis clash with the Martinsville Bluestreaks (Martinsville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Red Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Bluestreaks go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 67-43 non-league loss to Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL).
